A pleasant beach of fine sand about 200 metres long, set in a small bay on the north coast. The water is clear and calm, shallow for a good distance out, and typically warm by June. It’s ideal for families and anyone who wants a straightforward swimming beach without the circus.
What distinguishes Psarou is its single-minded simplicity. There’s one taverna (a very good one), one small beach bar operation, and not much else. No water sports, no music, no competing vendors. The beach is organised enough to be comfortable but not so much that it loses its character.

The beach is quieter than nearby Alykanas or Alykes. If you’re staying in that area and find it too busy, Psarou is a short drive away.
Morning swims are particularly lovely here — the water is calm, the beach is empty, and the light on the bay is beautiful.
